Aloe Vera for your teeth?

August 6th, 2009

A recent study in General Dentistry concluded that aloe vera gel is just as effective, and in some cases even more so, than commercial toothpastes in controlling caries-causing microorganisms. The antimicrobial effects of aloe vera have been attributed to the plant’s natural chemical compounds that are used in healing and arresting pain because of their analgesic, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.   There are several aloe vera toothpastes currently on the market but additional long-term clinical trials should be performed  to guarantee these results and the effectiveness of these tooth care products.

Crest Pro- Health Night Formula

July 23rd, 2009

Many of our patients have been asking ” what is the difference between Crest Pro-Health original and Night formula?”  Here’s a quick breakdown so you can decide which is right for you:

crest-prohealth-toothpasteCrest Pro-Health original:

- Flouride toothpaste

- Fights plaque

-Inhibits cavities

-Helps aid tooth sensitivity

 -Freshens breath

Crest Pro-Health Night:

All of the above with a “lighter” mint flavor. This is my personal favorite because I still get all the Pro-health benefits with less aftertaste!
