Aloe Vera for your teeth?

A recent study in General Dentistry concluded that aloe vera gel is just as effective, and in some cases even more so, than commercial toothpastes in controlling caries-causing microorganisms. The antimicrobial effects of aloe vera have been attributed to the plant’s natural chemical compounds that are used in healing and arresting pain because of their analgesic, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.   There are several aloe vera toothpastes currently on the market but additional long-term clinical trials should be performed  to guarantee these results and the effectiveness of these tooth care products.

I was writing on another health benefit of aloe vera when I found out that it is also good for oral health from different reference sources. I subsequently use aloe to brush my teeth and am delighted with the improvement. Therefore it is most commendable to see dental professionals like you folks mentioning this on your website.
